Mamaia 🏖️
Eight kilometers of fine sand between the sea and the lake — the heart of the Romanian summer.
Mamaia is a thin strip of land as wide as a street, squeezed between the Black Sea on one side and Lake Siutghiol on the other. On these eight kilometers, the most famous resort on the Romanian coast is packed in: a wide beach with fine sand, a sea that slopes gently and warms up quickly, and a promenade that never sleeps in summer. It's right next to Constanța, so you have an entire city just fifteen minutes away.
The resort has two faces. To the north, it's more laid-back — wider beaches, families with kids, lazy mornings. To the south, around the Casino, the buzz begins: terrace after terrace, the Aqua Magic water park, and the gondola floating above it all. And at the end toward Năvodari, Mamaia Nord has become the undisputed capital of summer fun in Romania.
Let's be honest: in July and August, Mamaia is packed, and parking becomes a competitive sport. If you can choose, come in June or September — the water is still warm, prices are gentler, and you have room to spread your towel. And don't leave without taking the boat across the lake to Ovidiu Island for dinner with the most beautiful sunset in the area.
